Diploma in Animal Husbandry, Admission procedure
To be eligible for admission in Polytechnic in Animal Husbandry the candidate should have passed Secondary School Certificate Examination of Gujarat State or other equivalent examination along with English as compulsory subject. Reservation criteria is as per government norms. The minimum marks obtained in Gujarati / Regional language, Mathematics, Science / Science & Technology, Social Science / Social Studies and English subjects required are as below

Undergraduate Admission
The candidate of Gujarat domicile who have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematic (PCM) with English as a compulsory subject from any statutory University / Gujarat Board/ other board in State or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto by the University are admitted following the reservation criteria fixed by Government of Gujarat (given below). The minimum requirement of marks obtained in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) in theory papers at the HSCE examination for admission to B.Tech.(Dairy Tech.) are as under;
- (i) For Schedule Caste Candidates - 35%
- (ii) For Schedule Tribe Candidates - 35%
- (iii) For Socially and Educationally - 40%
Backward Class Candidates
- (iv) For General Category candidates - 40%
and candidates not covered above (i), (ii) and (iii)
A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination and
- has appeared in the GUJCET Examination or any other examination as decided by the State Government from time to time conducted in the current academic year were eligible for admission.
- Merit list was prepared considering 60 % weightage of the marks obtained in the Theory Papers Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) subject and 40 % of the marks obtained in GUJCET or any other entrance test as notified by the State Government.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission of Postgraduate Programme
A candidate for admission to the Master degree programmes should have minimum requirement of marks at the bachelor degree of the respective faculty level as under.

The selection of candidate for the admission was on the merit basis. The merit list was prepared by giving 50:50 weightage to the OGPA (percentage basis) of the last degree and marks obtained in the common entrance test examination and marks of sports, if applicable. However, a candidate shall have to obtain at least 50% of marks in common entrance test examination so as to become eligible for merit list.
