The Governor of the State of Gujarat is by virtue of his office is the Chancellor of the University as per Kamdhenu University Act 2009 Notified vide. Part IV GUJARAT GOVERNMENT GAZETTE EX. 07-07-2009 his excellency is designated as “The University officer” of the Kamdhenu University.

Dr. P. H. Tank

Hon'ble Vice Chancellor

Obtained his Graduation in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from GAU, Anand in 1986 and stood first in the University, Masters in Veterinary Science from GAU., Anand in 1989 and Doctorate from TANUVAS, Chennai in 1995 in the discipline of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology and was recipient of Dr. M. N. Menon- former Animal Husbandry commissioner award. Also received other 22 Awards & Honors which includes 10 for Academics and 12 for Scientific contributions and has 38 years of vast experience in Teaching, Research, Extension Education and Administration.

Dr. M. R. Gadariya

Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Science

Dr. M. R. Gadariya has earned his Ph.D. (LPM) from College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Gujarat Agricultural University (GAU), Anand Campus (Gujarat). He is an expert in livestock production, with a distinguished carrier of 38 years in teaching, research and extension. He has made significant contributions to the improvement of indigenous cattle and buffaloes, especially Gir cattle and Jaffarabadi buffalo. He has also played pivotal roles in the development and strengthening of Livestock Farm Complex, College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry at Junagadh and Bull Mother Farm at Amreli, and both of which stand today as model units in the state. He has contributed significantly for the development and strengthening of Polytechnic in Animal Husbandry (Diploma College) at Junagadh. He has received best teacher award for the year 2013-14. He published 68 research paper in national and international journals. He also presented several abstracts in seminars and symposia and published more than 40 vernacular articles and pamphlets. He has contributed significantly as principal investigator and co-principal investigator on breed improvement of Gir cattle & Jaffarabadi buffalo. He guided several postgraduate students as Major and Minor advisor.

Dr. V. M. Ramani

Dean,Faculty of Dairy Science

Doctorate with more than 22 years of experience in teaching and research. Principal Investigator in more than 10 research projects funded by DBT, DST of Govt. of India and GSBTM of Govt. of Gujarat. He has received many national and state level Hackathon awards like Vibrant Gujarat Grand Challenge, Biothon awards and got first rank in national level ICAR-KRITAGYA Hackathon 2.0. He has developed one innovation for the instant detection of milk adulteration and Patent has been granted by Patent Office, Govt. of India. He has published more than 60 research papers and articles in national and intentional journals with four book chapters and three books. Guiding many Ph.D. as well as M.Tech students. Areas of research interest are nanotechnology, biosensors, micro/nano – encapsulation, efficient dairy effluent treatment, probiotic and prebiotic. At present working as a Dean of Dairy Science Faculty in Kamdhenu University and Principal of College of Dairy Science, Amreli.

Dr. S. I. Yusufzai

Dean, Faculty of Fisheries Science

Dr. S. I. Yusufzai is a distinguished and dedicated academic leader with over 18 years of experience in teaching, research, and administration. Currently, he serves as Professor in the Department of Aquaculture and holds the additional charge of Principal at the College of Fisheries Science, Kamdhenu University, Himmatnagar. He has been appointed as Dean, Faculty of Fisheries Science, Kamdhenu University, Gandhinagar, with effect from 01.02.2026.

With a meritorious academic record, he completed his undergraduate degree at the College of Fisheries Science, Veraval, in 1999. He subsequently earned his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Aquaculture from the College of Fisheries, Dr. B. S. Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. He has published around 50 research papers and articles in national and international journals. To his credit, he has served as Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator for seven externally funded research projects. Under his guidance, 16 M.F.Sc. and 12 Ph.D. students completed their degrees up to the academic year 2024–25.

He has participated in several training programmes, seminars, workshops, symposia, and conferences across the country. He also underwent a three-month advanced international training programme as a Visiting Scientist at Iowa State University of Science & Technology, Ames, Iowa (USA), sponsored by ICAR-NAIP during 2013–14. He is the recipient of the first Best Teacher Award (2012–13) for the Faculty of Fisheries Science, Junagadh Agricultural University, under the ICAR Best Teacher Award Scheme. He is a member of several national, state, and university-level committees and actively contributes to the welfare and advancement of fisheries education and faculty.

With a strong background in aquaculture and fisheries science, he is committed to advancing education and research through innovative methodologies and collaborative, team-based approaches. He is adept at fostering an engaging learning environment and has a proven track record of promoting student success and institutional development.

Dr. Rohitkumar G. Shah

Director of Research

Dr. Rohitkumar G. Shah, born (1964) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat is a distinguished Veterinary professional over 38 years of experience in Veterinary Science, focusing on teaching, research, extension, clinical activities and administration. Dr. Shah began his career as an Assistant Research Scientist at GAU in September 17 th 1987, advancing to the role of Professor of Veterinary Gynaecology & Obstetrics at the College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Anand Agricultural University (AAU), in 2009. In 2015, he joined Kamdhenu University (KU) Gandhinagar as an Associate Director of Research (ADR), where he has held multiple roles including PG Coordinator, Exam Coordinator etc. He played key role in establishment of Veterinary Emergency Response Unit (VERU) at CVSc & AH, Anand & acted as the First Coordinator for the Western Zone of VERU. He acted as Nodal Officer for various National Ranking Frameworks and Surveys, including National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), ICAR Ranking of AUs; All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE); GSIRF; RFRF; FICCI Ranking etc. Dr. Shah’s research career is marked by his involvement in 14 research projects and his role as Co- Investigator in the e-Animal Health Card funded by National e-Governance Division, Govt. of India, New Delhi.

Dr. J. S. Patel

Director of Extension Education (I/c)

Dr. J. S. Patel, Director of Extension Education has obtained his graduation in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry in 1987, Masters in Veterinary Medicine in 1990 and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2000 from Gujarat Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar. He has experience of 38 years in Teaching, Research, Extension and Administration. He has published more than 200 research articles in international and national journals, books; popular articles, conference/ symposia paper presentations, practical manuals/booklets etc. He has attended more than 50 National and International seminar/symposium/conferences and worked as member Editorial Board of reputed scientific research journals of India and Abroad. He has Guided 02 Ph. D. and 08 M.V. Sc. students and monitored many Research/Educational projects. He is recipient of 02 Awards for Academics and Scientific contributions. He is a Life member and office bearers of 09 Scientific and professional associations. He has vast administrative experience and worked in different positions in University.

Dr. A. B. Patel

Director of Information Technology

Doctorate in Computer Science with more than 21 years of experience in teaching, research and administration. He has published more than 12 research papers in reputed Journals / Conferences, has participated in more than 14 conferences/workshops, 12 faculty development and training programmes and has organized more than 15 conventions, seminars and workshops.

Dr. B. N. Patel

Director of Students Welfare

Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences with experience of 9 years in teaching and research. He has Published 5 research articles, 3 review articles in international and national journals and one book. He Guided 09 M Pharm students. He has also attended more than 13 National conferences / seminars / symposium as well as more than 4 Staff development programmes.

Dr. R. J. Modi

Comptroller (I/c)

He earned his B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree from Gujarat Agricultural University in 2001. He further specialized in Livestock Production and Management, completing his M.V.Sc. in 2004 from Gujarat Agricultural University and Ph.D. in 2019 from Anand Agricultural University. With 17 years of rich experience in academics, research, extension, and university administration, he has significantly contributed to veterinary education and livestock development. He is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Livestock Farm Complex at the College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Anand. He has an impressive scholarly record with over 60 research publications in reputed national and international journals. He has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences and has also contributed to academic books and popular science articles.

Dr. A. M. Raval

University Librarian

Dr. Ajaykumar M. Raval has joined as a University Librarian in University Library, Kamdhenu University on 17th January 2020. He is Ph.D. in Library and Information Science subject. He has worked as a Librarian at B.K. Mercantile Bank Law College for 21 years and as a visiting faculty, he has also worked for more than 13 years at the Department of Library and Information Science, H.N.G. University, Patan. Dr. Raval was a recognized Ph.D. guide in H.N.G. University, Patan and 5 research scholars completed their Ph.D. research work and 1 research scholar pursuing his Ph.D. under his guidance.
