Dr. J. S. Patel (born 1964) did his B.V. Sc. & A.H. in 1987, M. V. Sc. (Veterinary Medicine) in 1990 and Ph. D. (Veterinary Medicine) in 2000 from Gujarat Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar.

He has over 34 year of experience in teaching, research and extension. He started his career as a Veterinary Officer in 1987 from Gujarat Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar. He jointed Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh as a Professor in 2012. He also served as a Professor at Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari in 2019. He is working as Associate Director of Extension Education at Kamdhenu University, Gandhinagar since 2019 & presently having responsibility of Director of Extension Education and Dean, Fisheries Science Faculty.

He worked as Professor& Head, Department of Veterinary Medicine and Department of Veterinary Clinical Complex at Veterinary College, Junagadh. He served as member of Academic Council, Research Council, Expert Diagnostic Team Monitoring Committees for RKVY Scheme and Laboratory Analysis Policy for Cow urine and other Panchgavya. He has participated in more than 40 scientific events like symposia, seminar, workshop and webinars.

Dr. Patel has published 21international and 39 national research articles, guided two Ph. D. and seven M. V. Sc. Students. Bestowed with Best Teacher Award. He was Principal Investigator of Schemes entitled, ‘Technical Assistance for wildlife health care, disease diagnosis and Therapeutic measurements’, ‘Modernization of Veterinary Clinics’, ‘Setting up of facilities for Entrepreneurship – ELU- ICAR’ and Revolving fund at Veterinary College, Junagadh. He has delivered expert talk in Doordarshan, Junagadh – Janvani and Radio talk.
