Previously, it was a one year certificate course of Livestock Inspector. Considering the present trend towards the animal husbandry sector, Government of Gujarat has upgraded the one year livestock inspector course in the three year (six semesters) diploma course in “Polytechnic in Animal Husbandry" at Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh vide resolution no. AHS/10211/MUMAK/44-P.2 of Agricultural & Cooperation Department, Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar.
