UG Programme - B. Tech. (Dairy Technology)

The College imparts education leading to a 4 year B. Tech. (Dairy Technology) degree in which students are given theoretical and practical knowledge under five different departments viz. Dairy Technology, Dairy Engineering, Dairy Chemistry, Dairy Microbiology, and Dairy Business Management. They learn the principles of technology, engineering, chemistry, microbiology, and business management to develop new and improved methods in production, preservation, marketing and utilization of milk and its products.

To handle real life situations in the dairy field, the students are given industrial training (hands on training) in the commercial dairy plant including handling of BMCs and chilling centers. The training provides a platform to enhance the practical knowledge and also boost confidence level of the students. In this training, departments are covered from purchase of raw materials to marketing of finished end product. Students are given training in milk processing, product manufacturing, product testing, packaging, cleaning, maintenance aspects, account, purchase, marketing, etc.

The college also organizes various field trips to the dairy industries and institutes as and when required during the semester for various subjects to gain updated practical knowledge. Thus, College of Dairy Science, Amreli provides a platform for the overall development of the students and caters the need of new dairy technologist in the fast developing dairy field.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 10+2 Science with ‘A’/ ‘A&B’ Group, GUJCET of Current year.
  • Merit list will be based on 60:40 ratio (PCM Marks: GUJCET Marks).
  • SC, ST, SEBC and ICAR reservation as per the norms of Government.

Postgraduate Institute of Dairy Education and Research, Amreli offers master degree in Dairy Technology, Dairy Engineering, Dairy Microbiology and Dairy Chemistry. The minimum course credit requirement for a student enrolled for Master‘sDegree programme is 55 (including research work).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Gujarat domicile and pass out students of Gujarat State & ICAR/VCI accredited SAUs of other states shall be eligible; further, pass-out students of Gujarat and non-domicile of Gujarat State shall be considered for admission only for the remaining vacant seats.
  • A candidate for admission to the Master's degree program should have minimum requirement of marks at the Bachelor or degree (UG) level as under
