Aquaculture: The department of Aquaculture started its first academic batch in the year 2015- 16
The department is having all the required instruments and class room of PG studying, further department is having a wet lab for experiment of PG students. The department is having a soil and water testing laboratory and full-fledge biochemistry laboratory with advance instruments, further, for the practical exposure and other inland research for PG students Centre of excellence was established in the year 2019 at Ukai, Gujarat.
Research Area: the following are the research area
- Inland saline Aquaculture
- Bio-floc technology
- Nutrition and feed replacement
- Metagenomics of commercially important fishes
- Barcode of native fishes
- Base line data survey
Achievement
Altogether approx. more than 15 students successfully completed their M.F.Sc. research work on the various aspects of aquaculture in that few important areas are inland saline aquaculture, nutrition replacement, metagenomics and bio-floc technology are important, further students are published in the reputed journals of national and international reputation. The students research was discussed and presented at the various national and international platforms like symposiums, workshops.
Further CoE and Department of Aquaculture department has conducted several hands-on trainings at CoE, Ukai. Several online training and cources are conducted by the department. Further the following current projects in AGRESCO of the departments are
