Nss Activities

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a voluntary association of young people in academic institutes/colleges/universities having motto of developing student's personality through community service. Mandate is to develop national unity and make students learn community serving. From the volunteers perspective, too there are benefits - students, are much more easily motivated to learn when confronted with real-life problems that need solutions, there is increased awareness of the community and world around them and their own responsibilities towards it. Most of all it teaches students to develop compassion and empathy for others. The social benefit is a deep appreciation of Indian society and its traditions.

Under NSS scheme vaccination and deworming camps, blood donation camp, Thalassemia awareness and clinical camp, cleanliness programme, tree plantation, orientation programme for NSS etc. were organized. Students are exposed to working environment under field conditions and common diseases of the livestock in villages. They also learn the folklore practices which the villagers perform to relieve animal sufferings in emergency conditions and some performed as preventive measures.

Through NSS social responsibility of providing service to the needful is inculcated. It helps students to learn managing life in villages despite of scarcity of resources and living life with dignity.

Dr. H. A. Patel, Assistant Professor is appointed as a NSS Program Officer for the academic year of 2021 – 22 to 2023 -24.

Different activities carried out under the NSS Scheme

3	Thalassemia test screening at health center	18/09/2018	Students (47) of first and 1st semester were screened.
4	Blood donation camp	05/12/2018	Students (10) and staff members.
5	Deworming camp at Juvol & Dantiwada	10/12/2018	Students of 3rd and 5th sem. (15) and staff. About 1300 sheep were dewormed.
6	Health checkup camp	09/08/2019	Total 120 cases were examined by expert physician.
7	Tree plantation at Polytechnic hostel and office	20/09/2019	All the students and staff. About 120 trees were planted.
8	Swachata Abhiyan at college and hostel	02/10/2019	All the staff members and students were participated
9	Thalassemia test screening at health center	03/12/2019	Students (35) of first and 1st semester were screened.
10	Swachata Abhiyan at college and hostel as well as Vijyasar Temple, Dantiwada	01/10/2021	All the staff members and students were participated
11	Deworming camp at Juvol	01/10/2021	Students of 5th sem. (15) and staff. About 1047 sheep and goats were dewormed.
12	Deworming camp at Atal	13/10/2021	Students of 5th sem. (05) and staff. About 1107 sheep and goats were dewormed.
12	Thalassemia Awareness cum Testing Programme	08/09/2022	42 students participated and screened for Thalassemia.
12	Blood donation camp with joint venture of Banas medical college and HDFC bank at Sardarkrushinagar	09/12/2022	6 students were donated blood.
