Establishment
The College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Rajpur (Nava), Himmatnagar (Dist. Sabarkantha), Gujarat was sanctioned by the Government of Gujarat vide Resolution No. કપય/૧૩૨૦૧૯/૬૭૦ પી.૧ તા.૨૨/૦૮/૨૦૧૯ of Department of Agriculture and Co-operation, Ministry of Agriculture & Co-operation, Govt. of Gujarat, Gandhinagar and started functioning from 18/11/2019 under Kamdhenu University, Gandhinagar.
Recognition
The College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Kamdhenu University, Rajpur (Nava), Himmatnagar (Dist. Sabarkantha), Gujarat is recognized by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI), New Delhi, since 2025.
Location
The college is located at Rajpur (Nava), Himmatnagar on Himmatnagar-Idar highway in Sabarkantha district of Gujarat. It is around 9 kms away from Himmatnagar city and 75 kms from state capital Gandhinagar towards Udaipur (Rajasthan).
Vision
- To provide quality Veterinary education to students in order to transform them as professionally competent graduates.
- To generate quality, skilled and specialized technical manpower to cater the need of livestock sector and provide effective Veterinary healthcare services to animals.
- To train Veterinary science graduates for entrepreneurship.
Mission
- To inculcate futuristic professional skills to Veterinary graduates in the field of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry to meet global standards.
- To function as the National Referral Centre in the area of disease diagnostics and therapeutics.
Goals
- To supplement the ever-growing demand of Veterinary professionals within the state.
- To improve productivity of livestock for upliftment of socio-economic status of livestock entrepreneurs and farmers.
- To conduct research and propagate/transfer scientific technologies to field conditions.
- To update knowledge of professionals and reduce laboratory research-farmers extension gap.
- To lead the path in diagnosis and treatment of rare animals and bird species.
Objectives
- To impart the professional training leading to award of Diploma, Graduate and Post-graduate degrees in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry.
- To develop and transfer the technology for holistic improvement of livestock wealth under the field conditions.
- To ameliorate the socio-economic status of livestock owners.
- To offer consultancy services for subject matter expertise.
- To develop and provide world class diagnostic and advisory services for livestock health improvement.
